Thomas Venker
Thomas Venker, lebt und arbeitet in Köln, ist Mitherausgeber und Co-Chefredakteur des Kaput-Magazin für Insolvenz & Pop und Co-Kurator der Konzertserie "Köln ist kaput“ (beides gemeinsam mit Ventil-Autor Linus Volkmann). Bevor er 2014 Kaput gründete, war er 14 Jahre lang Chefredakteur des Intro Magazins. Momentan ist er ebenfalls Mitglied im Redaktionsteam des Magazins Chart – Notes to consider, schreibt regelmäßig für ein Portfolio von Zeitschriften und Tageszeitungen und moderiert Panels und Symposien für kulturelle Einrichtungen, und ist als Berater und Kurator für die Monheim Triennale tätig.
Neben seiner journalistischen Arbeit lehrt er Musikjournalismus und Künstler_innen-Marketing am Institut für Populäre Musik der Folkwang Universität der Künste, an der Heinrich-Heine Universität Düsseldorf und an der Universität Paderborn.
Er ist Manager der Techno-Musikproduzentin und DJ Lena Willikens sowie des audiovisuellen Kunstperformance-Projekt Phantom Kino Ballett.

Thomas Venker, Cologne, is the co-founder and co-editor in chief of Kaput – Magazin für Insolvenz & Pop (Insolvency & Pop) and co-curator of the "Köln ist Kaput" concert series of the magazine (together with Linus Volkmann); before starting Kaput in 2014 he was for 14 years Editor in Chief of Intro Magazine.
Currently Thomas is also part of the editorial team of Chart – Notes to consider magazine, writes frequently for a portfolio of magazines and daily newspapers, moderates panels and symposia for cultural institutions and acts as advicer and curator for the Monheim Triennale.
Besides his journalistic work he teaches music journalism and artist marketing at the Institute for Pop Music of the Folkwang University of the Arts, the Heinrich-Heine University (Düsseldorf) and the University of Paderborn.
He is managing the techno producer and dj Lena Willikens and the audiovisual art performance project Phantom Kino Ballett.
